AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
WHEREAS, The United States Department of Justice has grant funding available through its
Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain funds that will be used to purchase equipment and provide training for
officers; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Two Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Seven Dollars (S 2,637.00) is
required and such local match will be budgeted in the 2004 budget cycle.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the United States Department of Justice.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in
an amount up to Twenty-three Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-four Dollars (S 23, 734.00).
3. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds from the 2004
budget cycle in an amount up to Two Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-seven Dollars (2,
637.00) as matching funds for said grant.
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be
appropriated to purchase equipment and to provide training for officers.
Passed and adopted this _18th day of _Au ust 2003, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.
