AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL SERVICE
WHEREAS, The Corporation for National Service has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that
will be used for the 2004 operating budget for the Retired and Senior Volunteer
Program (RSVP); and
WHEREAS, a local match of Thirteen Thousand Dollars (S 13,000.00) is required for the
above described grant and said local match shall consist of Three Thousand
Dollars (S 3,000.00) from the Parks & Recreation Department Budget and Ten
Thousand Dollars (S 10, 000.00) from donations received by the RSVP program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Corporation for National Service.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Thirty-eight Thousand Two Hundred -thirty Dollars (S 38, 230.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond shall be appropriated for the 2004
operating budget for the RSVP program.
Passed and adopted this _6th day of October 2003, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
