HomeMy Public PortalAbout2017-031 Resolution Terminating Employment with Craig SwalchickMember Martin introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2017-31 RESOLUTION TERMINATING EMPLOYMENT WITH CRAIG SWALCHICK WHEREAS, Craig Swalchick began employment with the City of Medina on November 9, 2016 and is currently serving a 12 month probationary period; and WHEREAS, Craig Swalchick is currently in the Police Officer Field Training Program and has not been able to progress to the next stage in the program; and WHEREAS, Section 9.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. (LOCAL # 36) and the City of Medina states, "During the probationary period, a newly -hired or re -hired EMPLOYEE may be discharged, with or without cause, at the sole discretion of the EMPLOYER"; and WHEREAS, Public Safety Director Edgar Belland recommends Craig Swalchick's termination from his position at the City of Medina. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that Craig Swalchick is hereby terminated from his position at the City of Medina effective immediately. Dated: May 2, 2017.
