COMMENTS: �
On October 7, 1986 the Board directed staff to solicit bids
for the city newsletter. Bids were received from six ;
printers with Weiler Printing submitting the lowest bid of ;
. $2,561.00.

RECOMMENDATION: �

It is recommended that the Board of Directors authorize staff '
to enter into a purchase order agreement with Weiler Printing �
for the typesetting and printing of the city newsletter �
"Lynwood Livinq" for one'year (four issues).

The Lynwood Information, Inc., met in a regular session in the
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 7:56 p.m.
Chairman Henning in the chair. �N
Directors Byork, Tlorris, tiVells, Hear.ing answered the roll call.
Also present were City Manager Gomez, and City Attorney Yeager.

1986, be approved as written.
It was moved by Director Wells, seconded by Chairman Henning, that
the Board authorize staff to solicit bids for the typesetting and
printing of the City Newsletter according to the bid specifications.

SUBJECT: CITY NEWSLETTER
PURPOSE
To have the Board of Directors authorize staff to enter into a
purchase order agreement with weiler Printing for the typesetting and
printing of the city newsletter.
EACTS
On October 7, 1986 the Board directed staff to solicit bids for the
typesetting and printing of the quarterly newsletter "Lynwood Living.
In the bid document, printers were asked to place a not to exceed
value on one issue of an eiqht page magazine format newsletter. Bids
received include:
Weiler Printing $2,561.00
Del Amo Press 2,784.00
Lynwood Press 3,174.80 '
Lyngate Printing 3,249.50
Write-Now Printing 3,775.00
Impact Graphics 4,356.00
Since Weiler Printing provided the lowest bid, staff checked I
references and examples of their work. They were found to be
responsible printers with extensive experience in producing similar
brochures and newsletters. In addition, they have the capability of
typesetting the newsletter directly from computer disks provided by
the city. They will also provide training on the style and format of �
preparing the computer disks. This will save time in the typesetting �
process. .
RECOMMENDATION !
It is recommended that the Board of Directors authorize staff to enter �
into a purchase order agreement with Weiler Printing for the �
typesetting and printing of the city newsletter "Lynwood Living" for i
one year (four issues).
