AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO
THE PARKING OR STAND-
ING OF VEHICLES AND PRE-
SCRIBING PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATION:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
WELLSBURG, IOWA: ,
SECTIO\ 1. Stopping or Parking.
—It shall be unlawful to stop or park
a vehicle, including motor vehicles, on
the street, except as otherwise pro-
vided in this ordinance, unless the rigl*
side of such vehicle is next to and par-
allel with the curb and as near thereto
as the condition of the street will per-
mit. (505G)
SECTIOv 2. Special Parking. —It
shall be unlawful to park any vehicle,
including motor vehicles, in the busi-
l+ess district in any other way except
heading into the curb at an angle of
forty-five degrees with the property

SECTIO\ 3. Vehicles for Hire —It
shall be unlawful to leave any motor
vehicle, motor tnuk or other vehicle,
kept for hire, parked or standing on
Adauts Street bet��een Fourth Street
and the alley intersection in Block 8,
on Third Street from \\'ashington
Street to the intersection of the alley
'n Blocks 7 and 10, or in any alley in
Blocks 7, 8, 9 and 1Q, except for the
purpose of loading and unloading and
not to exceed thirty minutes at any
one time.
SECTIO\ 4. Corner or Hydrant
Parking —It shall be unlawful to leave
any motor vehicle standing upon any
street, in tl�e business district, within
fifteen feet of the corner or within
fifteen feet of any hydrant. (5058)
SECTION 5. Exceptions —The pro-
visions of this Ordinance in regard to
stopping a vehicle shall not apply in
cases of emergency, when the stop is
Made to avoid accident, or to allow
Pedestrians or vehicles to cross in
front of such vehicle, or when made in
obedience to a signal of a police or
traffic officer or in observance of any
Mechanical or electrical device, de-
`is;ned and in operation for the regu-
lation acid control of traffic upon the

SECTION G. Penalties —Anyone
� iolating any of the pt•ovisions of this
Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
subject to imprisonment not exceeding',
thirty days, or to a fine not exceeding
cme hundred dollars. \Whenever the
tine and costs imposed for the viola-
tion of this Ordinance are not paid,
the person convicted may be commit-
ted to jail until the fine and costs are
laid, not exceeding thirty days. (5714)
SECTION 7. All ordinances or
harts of ordinances in conflict with the
t�rovisions of this Ordinance are here-
hy repealed.
SECTIOI`T 8. This Ordinance shall
be in force and effect from and after its
passage and publication as provided by
law.
