1 Chairman 's announcements
On November 14, 2019 the Massachusetts House of Representatives passed a comprehensive bill featuring the
strongest language adopted by any US state regarding tobacco control , The bill bans the sale of all flavored
tobacco products including menthol, mint and wintergreen and adds a 75 % tax on e cigarettes and vaping
products . The Massachusetts senate was scheduled to vote on this today,
Tomorrow, November 21 , 2019 is the 44th Great American Smoke Out sponsored by the American Cancer Society,

At the Town Meeting on Monday November 18th, the Charter committee provided a report to the Select Board as
well as the Town about their findings . The report was accepted and money was appropriated for the committee
to continue putting together a Town Charter,

Joe Martins, septic inspector and Chris Manning, Realtor were present, This is a 2002 system, which is 154 feet
fromPinePond . The SAS is clowngradient from pond and is located as far as possible from the pond and 100
feet from the well ,
Dr. Scherzo asked about the well water results,
Mr. Manning has a copy and will email to the Health Director, The results came back acceptable .

Motion : Grant the 145 +/- variance to allow the SAS to remain in its current location

4. Discussion on draft In - House Septic Local Upgrade Approval Policy
Mrs. von Hone gave a power point presentation on this draft policy.
There are no changes proposed to the regulations. This is just a policy to state who would be granting the
variances . She went over Title 5 and Brewster regulations that would pertain to this .
The Board, agreed to change the title of the checklist, tweak the application a bit and add a spot for the square
footage of lot on application .
Mrs. von Hone will revise the forms, have it go back to Town Counsel and bring it back to another meeting .
5 . Topics the Chairman did not anticipate
Mrs . Graczewski spoke about the WQRC meeting on November 14{x' about 1399 Freeman' s way. There were more
recommendations given . There was talk of the monitoring wells and making sure they continue to test bi annually
for the next few years . Any changes with lot 1 need to come back for review.
Ms . Hausser Holeman stated that at Town meeting, residents voted to approve a bylaw banning plastic bottles .
