GOM�Z, CITY MAVAGER SUBJECT: PARAMEDICS Earlier this year City Council requested that.the City Attorney•� begin wor$ oa a draft or.dinance for a�aramedic Program in the • City of L��nwood. At its meeting of June 15, 1982, City Council received a draft ��rdinance from tfie City Attorney. The draft ordinance, as submitted bp the City �ttorney, re- quzres extensive discussion by the Citv Council in order to have a refined draft by the first or second meeting in �uly.for approval. � Approval is needed at one of the July �Ee�tings, becaus2 the final fi�ing'date for placing an item on the November oallot is ' August 6, 1982. • Staff wiil have as much mater.ial as it can gather to respond io queries t'r.at may arise regarding such an.ordinance. Maintenance Worker. r9CTS , (1) Tne City Council has adopted a Salary Resolution Yor FY 81-52 including salary schedules and anended same as needed. (2) The current hourly salary range for Poc� Maintenance 4+orker is from $4'.20 to $4-.70 per hour. � (3) Some pool maintenance work requires mini.mal skill warranting a lower rate oi pay than provided for on T?�e salary scizedule. A.*IALYSIS AND CONCLUSION The hourly salary range for Pool Diaintenance Worker is very narrow with or.l� $.50 between the minimum and maxicium rates of pay. The duties justify broadening this salary range by lowering the mini.mum pocsible compensation to $3.25 per hour. .
