LaPorte Also attending: Henry Lilienthal, Kathleen Kirton. Mayor Dodson called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read, approved and adopted. The financial report for AJARVI 1962 was read and approved. All payments recorded in this report were approved. A letter from Lake Lytal, Chairman of the Palm Beach County Commission was read. This letter informed the Town that Ocean Ave. in Boynton Beach would be kept open to traffic during construction. A letter from Mr. David Lee, Director of Sanitary Engineering of the Florida State Board of Health was read. This letter outlined the staters position on septic tanks and its desire to see municipalities install sewer systems. Mayor Dodson said that he would be in contact with Mayor Deitz of Delray Beach and report on progress made to determine costs and feaseability of Gulf Stream tieing into Delrayrs outfall system should the Town proceed to install a sewer system. A letter from Mr. Talbot Speer was read to the Commission. This letter urged the Town to oppose any widening of AlA that may be planned by the State Road Dept. He also suggested the Town see if, while the Intra - Coastal Waterway is being dredged, some of the sand could be pumped to the beach to help build it up. Mr. Hart said he would look into the matter for the Town. A letter from Mr. Lilienthal outlin#g certain deed restrictions that apply to Lot 43 Gulf Stream Properties #2, Col. Young's residence, was read. Among others he noted that no building or portion thereof shall be constructed within 25' of the east line of Oleander Way. A letter to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta authorizing the First National Bank of Delray Beach to make certain substitutions of treasury bonds pledged as guarantees of the Town's Funds on deposit with them was read to the Commission. The Commission authorized Mr. Hoyle to sign this letter of authority for the Town. A request from Harry Newett, Attorney for Mr. Reed was presented to the Commission. This request was that the Town write a letter to the Fla. Real Estate Commission Stating that the Town has accepted this plat of "Place au Soleil" and has accepted maintenance on all public improvements therein. Mr. Iglehart moved that the Town write this letter upon receipt of a letter of guarantee from Mr. Reed that he agrees to maintain said improvements for a period of 5 years. Commission Meeting - June 9, 1962 Page 2. Mr. Iglehart stated that it was verbally agreed to by Mr. Reed when the Town approved the plat. Motion was seconded and passed unanimously. The police reports were read and approved. First reading of an ordinance annexing lands of Ethal P. Perkins et al located on County Road was heard by the Commission. It was moved seconded and passed unanimously that said first reading in full of this ordinance be accepted. S'sc. wr Est reading of an ordinance declaring intention to annex lands of Ashbourne Realty and Land Development Company, et al located on Pelican Lane was heard by the Commission. It was moved seconded and passed unanimously that said ftrostS« «✓ reading in full of the ordinance be accepted. First reading of an ordinance amending section 64, Chapter II Title III, of the Code of Ordinances relating to the building trade must show proof of County License, o$ certificate of competency of Palm Beach County before issuance of a Town license was heard by the Commission. It was moved seconded and passed unanimously that said first reading in full of this ordinance be accepted. It was moved that Patrolman James Brown be given a x$16.00 per month raise effective June 1, 1962 as outlined in the Towns Pay Scale Plan. Motion was seconded and passed unani- mously. �J A tentative budget for the fiscal year Oct. 1, 1962 - Sept. 30, 1963 as prepared by the Deputy Town was presented to the Commission. Mayor Dodson appointed Mr. LaPorte to review this budget with Mr. Gwynn and report back at the next meeting. A request from Mrs. Large that the pine trees on Golf View Road be trimmed was discussed by the Commission. Mr. Gwynn was instructed to obtain prices for the project and report back to the Commission. Mr. Gwynn suggested that in the future the Town consider letting Mr. Hoyle bid on any vehicles and repair parts the Town should need Mr. Lilienthal stated that he did not believe the Town should do this.
