Certification of the Eligibility List for: `Account Clerk 'Water Service Worker "Senior Street Maintenance Worker (to be distributed at lhe meeting) V� COMMISSIONER ORALS VII ADJOURNMENT Regular meeting - November 18, 2004 CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2004 The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was held on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in"the Council Chambers of Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lewis at 5:06 p.m. Roll call was taken.by Roy Bufanda, Personnel Analyst III. All commissioners were present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Bradley. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Gilpen-Grayson and seconded by Commissioner Littlejohn to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 19, 2004. All in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC ORALS Ms. Sylvia Herron, Chairperson for AARP, asked for donations (sundries) from the board to put together Christmas baskets for the Peace and Joy Battered Womens' Shelter. There are 25 to 30 women registered in the shelter. They also get points when they turn in receipts from Albertson, Savon, Tupperware, Chevron and others (the list is posted in the Sr. Center). There is also a box in "' the City Cierk's Office for donations as well as in the Community Center. The receipts are turned in every three months then they receive a check. She also informed the board that the organization also provides community service. For example, they will be participating in the next alley clean up, by providing the cleaning crew with water. STUDIES & REPORTS Mr. Bufanda briefly explained the recruitment process for the position of Parking Control Officer. The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Gilpen-Grayson and seconded by Commissioner Littlejohn to approve the certification of the eligibility list for the position of Parking Control Officer. All in favor. Motion carried. Commissioner Bradley announced that the Red Hatters are selling tickets for the play Nothing But the Truth scheduled for Nov. 3` at 2:30pm for $20.00. There are 47 seats available, if anyone is interested stop by the Sr. Center and see Phyllis Cooper-Lyons. Chairperson Lewis stated that he is glad to be back from vacation and announced ,that the mother of the, basketball coach, Mr. Barfield for Lynwood High, passed away. ADJOURNMENT The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Gilpen-Grayson and seconded by Comrriissioner Littlejohn to adjourn to the regular meeting of October 21, 2004 at 5:00 pm.
