CIP Manager �Tobea�smboceaaiinemeer�g� ' VI COMMISSIONER ORALS VII • , ADJOURNMENT Regular meeting —April 15, 2004 � f k � C�TY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2004 The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was held on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Lynwood City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lewis at 5:05 p.m. Roll call was taken by Gail l. Black, Personnel Officer. Commissioner Gilpen-Grayson was absent due to illness. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Littlejohn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Vice Chairperson Johnston and seconded by Commissioner Littlejohn to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 15, 2004. All in favor. Motion carried. WELCOME COMMISSIONER Ms. Andrea Hooper, City Clerk, performed the swearing in oath of Paulette A. Bradley, newly appointed commissioner. Ms. Hooper gave Ms. Bradley a copy of the commissioners' handbook and explained the importance of regular � attendance and being on time. Chairperson Lewis welcomed Ms. Bradley and escorted her to the commissioners' table. PUBLIC ORALS Numerous members of the pubiic, supporters and friends of Ms. Bradley's gave their congratulations to her and praised her merits and stated she would be an asset to the board. Public comments were made by: Margaret Araujo, 3621 Cedar Ave., Lynwood, Ca.; Kathryn Amey, Community Affairs Commissioner; Ernestine Austin, Sr. Advisory Board Member; D. Joyce Edner, 3740 Palm, � Lynwood, Ca.; Ethel Pacheco, Women's Commissioner, Sylvia Herron, CDBG � Commissioner; Lorene Reed, 11805 Harris Ave., Lynwood, Ca.; Kanichia i Williams, Staff/Senior's Program; Phyllis Cooper-Lyons, Recreation � SuperintendenUSenior's Program A flower arrangement was given to , Commissioner Bradley from Mrs. Margaret Araujo. i Chairperson Lewis thanked the public for their comments. STUDIES & REPORTS — None � � . _� COMMISSIONER ORALS Commissioner Bradley thanked her supporters for their warm welcome and stated she looked forward to the challenges ahead. Commissioner Littlejohn welcomed Commissioner Bradley and also commented that the Board keep Commissioner Gilpen-Grayson in their prayers due to her illness. Vice Chairperson Johnston congratulated Commissioner Bradley on her appointment and commented on her outstanding background as evidenced by her resume. Chairperson Lewis noted Commissioner Bradley's background and again welcomed her to the Personnel Board. ADJOURNMENT The motion was made by Vice Chairperson Johnston and seconded by Commissioner Littlejohn to adjourn to the regular meeting of March 18, 2004 at 5:00 p.m..
