RESCHEDULED MEETING OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION
MONDAY, JULY 12, 2004
The regular meeting of the Public Safety Commission for the City of Lynwood,
California was held on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 6:15 p.m. at Lynwood City Hall,
Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly
posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.
CALL TO ORDER
Vice-Chairperson Jones called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. Steve Stewart,
Staff Liaison, took roll call. Commissioner Hawkins was absent.

Led by Commissioner Alatorre.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Commissioner Hutcherson and seconded by Commissioner
Alatorre to approve the minutes of the June 14, 2004 regular meeting with a noted !
correction. The following correction was noted under Public Oral Communications:
3rd page third paragraph, Ms. Green statement should read, " need to build a
higher fence or get a dog" instead of moving out of Lynwood. Commissioner
Calderon abstain from voting since he was not present at the last meeting. Motion
carried.

Lt. Garza briefly gave an overview of how the station operates during a 4� of July �
celebration. He stated that there were four area patrol cars, six deputies assigned �
to the park for the fireworks show and County cars were available to assist in case
of an emergency. He indicated that this was the first year that the City of Lynwood '
prohibited the illegal fireworks and approximately twenty citations were given out i
throughout the night not counting all the warning that were also issued. He also
stated that several of the citations that were given, were people that do not reside
in Lynwood. People come from other Cities because fireworks are not allowed in
