INFORMATION ITEMS: Update on Veterins Memorial Monwnent—Mr. Rodriguer . �;avc a brief update on the status of this project and passed out some infonnation to the Veterans Affairs Council members. Agenda item to be prepared for first Council meeting in August. Vlll. SCFIEDULED MATTERS: A. VETERANS AFFAIRS REPRESENTAT[VE — Did uot attend meeting; howcver Mr. Rodriguez reported that the representative was to speak on thc local VA Clinic here in the City of Lynwood. Participation is required in ordcr for the clinic to � remain open. Mr. Rodriguez is trying to advcrtise its existence through various means including the water bill, the Lynwood `N Perspective Newsletter and in surrounding communities such as South Gate. There is a minimal cost for services rendered �s in any outpatient clinia Costs for care from any VA facility arc billed to � � your medical insurance company if you have one. . � B. VETERANS DAY PROGRAM PLANNING — Mr. Rodriguez would like ro see a ;, � ground-breaking cere�nony for the Veterans Memorial Monument tied into thc j Veterans Day Program. Possible plans include bringing b�ck some of the participants � ' ofprcvious Veterans Day Pro�am celebrations such as the Buffalo Soldiers, the { R.O.T.C. and thc Andrews Sistcrs. Yadi Farhadi is currently on vacation until July � 1 I; there will be further planning upon his return.
