Present : Joan Carstanjen , Mary , Haynes , Laurel Labdon , Roberta Murphy , Judy Miller ,
Cindy Bingham ( Select Board liaison ) , Denise Rego (alternate )
1 . Come to order : Ms . Labdon called the meeting to order at 2 : 02 pm at the
Brewster Police Department conference room .
2 . Secretary' s Report : It was moved , seconded and unanimously voted to approve
the minutes of the April 19 , 2019 committee meeting .
3 . Old Business : The automatic doors at The Captains GC have not yet been
installed . Ms . Miller will contact Mark O' Brien regarding the status of this project .
There was a lengthy discussion regarding accessibility of Historical Society tours .
Ms . Labdon suggested that a working group of ACAC & Historical Society members
be formed to develop accessible tours . Ms , Carstanjen will attend the June meeting
of the Historical Society and report back on the discussions of their tours . She
stated that they are eager to improve access to their tours .
Ms . Labdon gave an overview of a draft she had started of the accessibility
postcards . She will email the draft to committee members for their review . It was
suggested that Kyle Hinkle of the Chamber of Commerce participate in the
development of the postcards , There was a question as to who would pay for the
printing and postage costs , the committee doesn ' t have funds . Ms . Rego will contact
the Chamber to ask their recommendation for the number of cards to be printed .
4 . New Business : Judy Miller and Roberta Murphy are not renewing for another 3
year term on the committee, new members are needed .
5 . Items for next meeting' s agenda :
Invite Kyle Hinkle of the Brewster Chamber of Commerce .
Review and discuss the draft improved accessibility vs . ADA standards
postcards .
Ms . Carstanjen will report on tour information and accessibility discussed at the
June 2019 Historical Society meeting .
Report on the status of the automatic doors at The Captains .
6 . Name Sept . ' s Chairperson : No one was named to chair the Sept . 20 , 2019
meeting .
7 . Other business not anticipated by the chair
Next meeting : Sept . 20 , 2019 at 2pm at the Brewster Police Facility
The meeting was adjourned at 2 : 55 pm .
