INVOCATION: None , III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: None IV. ROLL CALL: CHAIRPERSON BEIMER - Present VICE CHAIR JONES - Absent BOARD MEM$ER MENDOZA - Absent BOARD MEMBER WOOD -Present BOARD MEMBER REED - Absent BOARD MEMBER PEREZ - Absent BOARD MEMBER FORD - Absent BOARD MEMBER CALDERON - Present BOARD MEMBER FIELDS -Honorary Member BOARD MEMBER WILLIAMS - Absent V. AGENDA POSTING: Chairperson Beimer affirmed that the agenda was duly posted by the City Clerk for the July zoo5 meeting. VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes were not approved due to no quorum. VII. INFORMATION ITEMS; National Night Out coming up on August z, zoo5 in the Community Center parking lot from S:oo p.m. to 8:0o p.m. There will be food, music, jumpers, raffle prizes, information booths, kid's entertainment, health screenings and immunizations for kids. Don't forget to turn on your porch lights! VIII. SCHEDULED MATTERS: There was general discussion on all of the various school construction projects going on in the City including; 9-West to revert back to Hosler, Lindbergh wants to expand to Los Amigos Park, school on Wright Road to be ready in September, Carlin school was to be used for Summer school. Mr. Hernandez stated that he invited Mario Gutierrez to attend this meeting however he was unable to be present. He is working on a program in the city of Bellflower called the Young Marines, it is similar to an R.O.T.C. program. Mr. Gutierrez lives in Lynwood so it would not be a problem for him to conduct a similar program here. IX. PUBLIC ORALS: Lucy Hernandez, Commissioner on the Recreation & Parks Commission came by to visit. She and Board Member Wood discussed the fact that a new Soccer snack bar was approved in concept by Council, however there are no funds available with which to proceed on this project. Board Member . _r .,.,.r _. PUBLIC ORALS: Continued Wood informecl Commissioner Hernandez that beginning on August zo, zoo5 Soccer will take over the snack bar in the park. Soccer will be played on baseball � field #3. ; X. BOARD MEMBER ORALS: � ➢ JONES - Absent ➢ WOOD - He only stopped by briefly as he has a Baseball game in Lynwood City Park at 6:0o p.m. He inquired on the cost of the community bar-b-que � held at Los Amigos Park. Mr. Hernandez stated that the cost was minimal � including food and clean-up. I ➢ FORD - Absent ' ➢. FIELDS - Honorary Member ➢ PEREZ - Absent ➢ CALDERON - Stated that Board Member Jones has been in the hospital. ' ➢ REED - Absent � ➢ MENDOZA - Absent ' ➢ WILLIAMS - Absent ; ➢ BEIMER - Inquired on the sta[us of the Veterans Day Ceremony. Mr. ' Hernandez gave an estimate of $8,00o for military emblem plaques. � XI.
