The Commissioner then began to discuss all the detail of the upcoming event. First
DeJesus began going through the program.
First Staff person Perry Brents from the Recreation Department introduced himself and
began talking about the entertainment that would be at the event. First the musical
performer was going to be Vannesa Birch along with a three piece band, also there
would be a Poet reading some of his poetry throughout the program. The commission

All of the Commissioners agreed that he Mistress of Ceremonies would be Phyllis Lyons
from the Recreation Department along with Perry Brents.
The Commission then began going through the list of names that were listed to be
honorees at this event. There were only a couple of names missing or incorrect such as
the person that the Commission wanted to honor for the education department. They
discussed the suggested names and agree on Cassie Smith from Pathway.
