of their help and participation. She then asked Staff Liaison DeJesus is she had any
information from the NACW.
DeJesus then told that Commissioners that as of yet there was not too much
information available as far as the hotel and the event. DeJesus then said that it would
be a good idea for some of the friends or Commissioner to go to the NACW convention
in Pasadena for at least one day. She said that it would be a good idea for a bus to take
them.
DeJesus then started talking about the small committees that the Commission had
formed a couple months ago. She said that LWC should have an ongoing project to
work on. She mentioned the Mayor Pro-Tem was very passionate about working
against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
Commissioner Pacheco said that mentors would be a good idea to work against Gang.
She said that young kids need things to do like go bowling or fishing , she said that most
gang member just need someone to invest some time in them.
Commissioner Culp came up with an idea about have a program to clean up the alley's .

everyone could have a chance to give there suggestion.

to get more information out there to prevent kids from going to a gang.

the majority agreed that it was gangs. They talked about having some kind of program
and information for the schools in the city.

to gangs and gang violence.
