FLAP GATE CHANMER MAINTENANCE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, (`Borough"), wishes to receive bids for the Noe's
Creek Flap Gate Chamber Maintenance Project( and
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Noe's
Creek Flap Gate Chamber Maintenance Project; and .
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received two (2) bid proposals for the Noe's
Creek Flap Gate Chamber Maintenance Project as follows:
1. Tec -Con Contractors, Inc. $47,000.00
2. Zenith Construction Services, Inc. $30,250.00
WHEREAS, Tee-Con Contractors, Inc., has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as
evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with
the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has
recommended the award of a contract to Tee -Con Contractors, Inc., in a total amount not
to exceed $47,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Tec -Con Contractors, Inc., East Orange, NJ for the
Noe's Creek Flap Gate Chamber Maintenance Project for the sum of
$47,000.00 in accordance with all respects with the request for
proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer.
Adopted this 19 day of December, 2011
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 20, 2011.

On Thursday, December 15, 2011, two (2) bids were received for the Noe's Creek Flap Gate
Chamber Maintenance. Enclosed is a bid summary for the project. The following bids were
received:
Bidder I Base Bid
Tec -Con Contractors, Inc. $47,000.00
Zenith Construction Services, Inc. $80,250.00
The lowest responsive bidder for the project is Tec -Con Contractors, Inc. of 9 Dodd Street, East
Orange, New Jersey 07017.
Tee-Coil Contractors, Inc. has worked on other recent capital hnprovement projects for the Borough
within the past several years and their work was satisfactory.
We have reviewed all the bid documents and all required forms and document have been provided
by Tee-Con Contractors, Inc.
Therefore, based on their low bid and satisfactory past performance, it is recommended the Borough /
award a contract to Tec -Con Contactors, Inc for the Noe's Creek Flap Gate Chamber Maintenan �r'7
project for a total amount of $47,000.00,
