CREATING HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE FOR
31 LEFFERT STREET
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary J. Kovacs, 31 Leffert Street has requested a Handicapped Parking Space;
and
WHEREAS, this individual has met the requirements of the Traffic Safety Bureau for said parking
space;and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has inspected said location and has no objection to the
approval of said Handicapped Parking Space; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the following Handicapped Parking Space shall be designated.

Dear Ms. Barney:

Working tagetber to build a better Carteret
As requested, we have reviewed the applicant's request for the designation of an on- street
handicapped parking space to be located on Lefferts Street in front of the property. Based
on our site visit the property in question contains substantial physical restrictions. As a
result of these restrictions the property meets the requirements for the designation of a
handicapped parking space, and furthermore, as required by NJSA Title 39:4- 197.5, the
subject application indicates the applicant possesses a valid disabled person identification
card.
Therefore we have no objection to the Borough granting the applicant's request for a
designated handicapped parking space on Lefferts Street, subject to the approval of the
Borough's Traffic Safety Officer. Please note if approved a $250.00 fee will be required
from the applicant before the space is provided. This fee will cover the review costs, cost
of the signs and pavement striping.
