VETERANS AFFAIRS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FOR MARCH 28, 2005 L CALL TO ORDER: Vice Chairperson Dale Jones called the Veterans Affairs Council meeting [o order at 5:06 p.m. II. INVOCATION: Board Member Charles Wood gave the Invocation. III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Julio Mendoza led the Pledge of Allegiance. � IV. AGENDA POSTING: Vice ChairpersonJones affirmed that the agenda was duly posted by the City Clerk for the March zoo5 meeting. VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Vice ChairpersonJones requests a vote on the minutes for tlie March zoo5 meeting. Board Member Mendoza motions that the minutes be approved. Board Member Wood seconds the motion. All members vote unanimously for approval of the minutes. �. VIL INFORMATION ITEMS: None VIII. SCHEDULED MATTERS: • Veterans Day Event�Memorial Monument - Board Member Mendoza stated that he would like the memorial monument to be dedicated at this year's Veterans Day event. All branches of the military will be represented in honor of all the troops that have served; whe'ther deceased, prisoners of war or missing in action and those that are presently serving in the military. • Mr. Art Hernandez presented five (5� design proposals for the Veterans Memorial Monument. He will provide cost estimates at a future meeting. IX. PUBLIC ORALS'. None X. BOARD MEMBER ORALS: ➢ JONES - He is upset because of school construction going on in the alley behind his home. � WOOD - He is pleased that Art Hernandez will continue to be the city liaison : for the Veterans Affairs Council.
