APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Chairperson Beimer requests a vote on the minutes forthe March zoos meeting. Board Member Wood motions that the . minutes be approved. Vice Chairperson Jones seconds the motion. All members vote unanimously for approval of the minutes. VII. INFORMATION ITEMS: Several Board Members stated they would attend the Law Enforcement Reception at Bateman Hall on 4/z8 @ 5:0o p.m. The purpose of � this event is to introduce the new City Manager and new law enforcement ', personnel. VIII. SCHEDULED MATTERS: ! Group Photo — The Board Members posed for a photo to be displayed at � • City Hall. I • Litke R.O.T.C. Scholarship Fund - The Board Members discussed the fact _ i that this scholarship program has stalled due to several factors including; the retirement of Sgt. Lyle and also that the R.O.T:C. program is no longer offered at Lynwood High SchooL There have been no students meeting the � scholarship criteria set forth by the Litke family. They have the final say as . � to how the Scholarship monies are awarded. Chairperson Beimer stated that � �: the Coordinating Council has funds available to offer student scholarships for two more years. Mr: Art Hernandez, Recreation Coordinator suggested SCHEDULED MATTERS: Continued ,, that this bod`y invite the L.U.S.D. Superintendent to a Veterans Affairs • Council meeting to discuss this issue. Chairperson Beimer will' see the Superintericlent, Dr. Lal on Thursday and will attempt to discuss this withhim. IX. PUBLIC ORALS: None X. BOARD MEMBER ORALS: ➢ JONES - Mr. Hernandez presented Vice Chairperson Jones with a plaque and medallion originally scheduled to be presented to him at the Sr. Citizens Center Groundbreaking Ceremony by Councilmember Pedroza for sitting on the Senior Center Advisory Board Committee. Vice Chairperson Jones was unable ' to attend the groundbreaking because he was visiting his stepfather in the hospital. He also mentioned that due to construction of a school down his street, he is going to lobby for the closure of the alley behind his home. .
