I � � i I I � + I I � CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD SEPTEMBER 15, 2005 T,he regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was held on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chairperson Battle. Roll call was taken by Ms. Autra C. Adams, Interim Director of Human Resources/Assistant to the � CM. Commissioner Bradley and Commissioner Villanueva were absent. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE I Led by Vice-Chairperson Quinonez. ; I APPROVAL OF MINUTES i The motion was made by Commissioner Robinson and seconded by Chairperson � Battle to approve the minutes of August 17, 2005. All in favor. Motion carried. i PUBLIC ORALS - None j STUDIES AND REPORTS i The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Quinonez and seconded by Commissioner ; Robinson to approve the eligibility list for the position of Street Maintenance Worker. All in favor. Motion carried. ! The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Quinonez and seconded by Chairperson � Battle to approve the eligibility list for the position of Neighborhood Preservation , Specialist. All in favor. Motion carried. ! The motion was made by Commissioner Robinson and seconded by Vice-Chairperson ! Quinonez to approve the eligibility list for the position of Marketing & Grants Manager. , All in favor. Motion carried. , COMMISSIONER ORALS ; Chairperson Battle thanked Ms. Adams for the new phone directory and notified the board that she will not be able to attend the training on Labor Law and Labor Arbitration on October 20� and 21 because her parish will be hosting a carnival and she will be working. She also thanked the City Manager for allowing her to be part of the interview panel. She stated that it was a wonderful and marvelous experience. . i Ms. Adams stated that it was the first time that the City had three panels held for a director position. She mentioned that the City Manager made the suggestion. Therefore, the community, the employees and professionals were involved in the interview process. She also indicated that in future recruitments for an executive position, the same process will take place. Commissioner Robinson indicated that he is happy to be part of the commission. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Robinson made the motion to adjourn and Vice-Chairperson Quinonez seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. A typical way to obtain these knowledge and.abilities would be: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, public information, advertising, marketing, or related program preferably in a municipal setting. EDUCATION: Possession of a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or a closety related field. Possession of a master's degree is highly desirable.
