July 7, 2005 meeting VII DISCIPLINARY APPLEAL HEARING • Arthur Ba�eld VIII COMMISSIONER ORALS IX ADJOURNMENT Regu�ar meeting — July 21, 2005 Motion Second Vote Time: CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD JUNE 16, 2005 The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, Califomia was held on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, Califomia. The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 5:10 p.m. by Chairperson Battle. Roll call was taken by Ms. Autra C. Adams, Interim Director of Human Resources/Special Assistant. All commissioners were present. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Quinonez. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Commissioner Quinonez and seconded by Commissioner Bradley to approve the minutes of May 19, 2005. Chairperson Battle noted a ' correction under commissioner orals. The last sentence should read Chairperson , Battle requested that subsequent need items be presented prior to the meeting, so that the commissioners have ample time to review the item prior to voting. All in favor. Motion carried. STUDIES & REPORTS Commissioner Bradley made the motion and Vice-Chairperson Villanueva seconded to ' approve the eligibility list for the position of Deputy City Clerk. All in favor. Motion carried. Vice-Chairperson Villanueva made the motion and Commissioner Quir�onez seconded to approve the eligibility list for the position of O�ce Assistant I. All in favor. Motion carried. Vice-Chairperson Villanueva made the motion and seconded by Commissioner I Quinonez to approve the eligibility list for the position of Office Assistant II. All in favor. ' Motion carried. i Ms. Adams informed the board that she is aware that the commission is interested in attending personnel training. She will research as to what is available by. League of Califomia Cities and will keep the board informed. i Ms. Adams requested the board's approval to have a special meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at S:OOpm. She ir�formed the board that the need for the special meeting was because an appeal hearing was requested by an employee. All in favor. Motion carried. Ms. Adams introduced herself to the board and stated that she would be the new liaison for the Personnel Board. PUBLIC ORALS Commissioner Bradley shared with the commissioners that she attended the sexuai harassment workshop that was presented to the City employees on May 24, 2005 and stated that the facilitator was an exceilent speaker and that she enjoyed the workshop. A brief discussion took place among the commissioners concerning how comments can hurt others when it comes to harassment. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Quin6nez made the motion to adjoum and commissioner Bradley esconded. All in favor. Motion carried.
