The agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bradley called the meeting to order at approximately 5:05 p.m. Roll call was taken by Gail L. Black, Personnel Officer. All commissioners were present PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Commissioner Jingles I ; APPROVAL OF MINUTES The motion was made by Commissioner Jingles and seconded by Commissioner Quinonez to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 17, 2005. All ( in favor. Motion carried. i PUBLIC ORALS I i Ms. Lorene Reed, 11805 Harris Ave., Lynwood, addressed the board and stated I she was there as an observer. Ms. Reed also informed the board of the � upcoming Ms. Senior Lynwood Pageant. � BOARD REORGANIZATION I Commissioner Quinonez made the motion to open the nominations for � Chairperson with a second by Commissioner Jingles. All in favor. Motion ' carried. � Commissioner Quinonez nominated Commissioner Battle for Chairperson with a j second by Chairperson Bradley. As there were no other nominations the vote � was taken which was unanimous for Commissioner Battle as the Chairperson. � I Commissioner Villanueva made the motion to open the nominations for Vice- , Chairperson with a second by Commissioner Jingles. All in favor. Motion ! carried. � f 1 � , Personnel Board April 21, 2005 Commissioner Jingles nominated Commissioner Quinonei as Vice-Chairperson with a second from Chairperson Battle. As there were no other nominations the vote was taken which was unanimous for Commissioner Quinonez as the Vice- Chairperson. SUBSEQUENT NEED ITEM Ms. Black informed the board of a subsequent need item that would require a 4/5 vote to be considered by the board as the item came to the attention of staff after the agenda was po§ted. Commissioner Jingles made the motion to consider the item with a second from Commissioner Villanueva. All in favor. Motion carried. The item was the Request for Closed Promotional Examinations for the position of Office Assistant I and Office Assistant II as provided within the Lynwood City Code 12-7.4. The motion was made by Commissioner Bradley and seconded by Chairperson Bradley to approve a closed promotional examination for the positions. All in favor. Motion carried. COMMISSIONERS ORALS — None i ADJOURNMENT I The motion was made by Commissioner Bradley and seconded by I Commissioner Villanueva to adjourn to the regular meeting of May'!.9, 2005. All in favor.
