There was one non - committee member, Bob Tobias . Absent : George Bausch Meeting called to order at approximately 5 : 05 PM by Susan Riseman . The first order of business was to elect new officers on the Bikeways Committee . Susan stepped down from her position as President . She was thanked by the members for her service . Joe Sullivan was nominated for President by Greg Wright, seconded by Rick Scannevin and unanimously approved . Hal Minis offered to remain Vice President and Rick Scannevin was elected Secretary . It was noted we now have a full Committee of seven members . We then proceeded to address the items on the monthly agenda . The first item was concerning a letter to the Selectboard regarding the future upgrades on Millstone Rd . This was postponed as the writer of the letter, Hal Minis, was not physically present at the meeting . Next, Joe Sullivan reviewed the upcoming calendar of Bike events in 2020 that the Committee might want to look into participating in next year. Some of the suggestions were : Brewster in Bloom, Kid ' s Bike Safety Day/ Rodeo, assisting Brewster PD with J1 training, Pan Mass, Kid ' s Pan Mass, Brewster Conservation Day and several other non - profit fund raising rides that pass through Brewster. The topic of Bikeways Committee sponsored rides was briefly discussed and will be addressed again . Liability was a concern . As we started running late on time it was decided we would take up choosing events to participate in at the next meeting . It was suggested we promote cycling in Brewster as " Bike Brewster 2020" . Joe had done some research on the possibility of having the Brewster Water Dept . install a water bubbler . He spoke with Paul Anderson , water superintendent, who in turn contacted Selectwoman Mary Chaffee . Ms . Chaffee said any bubbler/ fountain must be on Town property. The area that was being considered is the parking lot off Rt . 137 near Underpass Rd . The State owns the parking lot and also owns an 80' ROW along the trail , according to Eric Levy . Another issue raised , other than where to tap in for the water, is that it may require drainage . It was agreed we need to do more research on this . The meeting ran past the usual 6 : 00 PM closing so there was not enough time for Greg Wright to do his presentation of biking routes in Town . He will do this at the next meeting . It was decided the next meeting will be December 19th at 5 : 00 PM Meeting was adjourned at 6 : 20 PM .
