AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO WATER; AMENDING SECTION
8-1-10 OF THE .VILLAGE CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO, IN-
CREASING SERVICE CONNECTION'EXPFNSE; AMENDING SEC-
TION 8-1-12 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO,
TO PROVIDE THAT THE CITY OF McCALL SHALL INSTALL
WATER METERS WHEN REQUIRED FOR MEASUREMENT FOR BIL-
LING PURPOSES; AMENDING SECTION 8-1-39 OF THE VILLAGE
CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO, TO INCREASE FEES FOR TESTING
WATER METERS; AMETTDING SECTION 8-1-42 OF THE VILLAGE
CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO, TO INCREASE FEES FOR TURNING
WATER OFF AND ON WHEN WATER HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR
NON-PAYMENT OF WATER ACCOUNTS;.AlvENDING SECTION
8-1-43 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO, IN-
CREASING THE SCHEDULE OF WATER CHARGES; AMENDING
CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE VIII OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF
McCALL, IDAHO, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO
BE NUMBERED SECTION 8-1-43A ESTABLISHING A WATER
BILLING CYCLE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS:

Section .1. That Section 8-1-10 of the Village Code of
McCall, Idaho, be, and the same is'.hereby amended to read
. as follows:
8-1-10: CONNECTION - EXPENSE: A standard service
connection which shall be supplied by the City at a
cost of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) to the
consumer, shall be construed to he one of three-
quarter inch :(3/4.") nominal internal diameter, extend-
ing from the main to the property line, and including
the necessary tap or shut off, tapping saddle, pipe,
fittings, City curb cock and curb box, meter and meter
box where latter is necessary. Where connections of
greater capacity are required for any purpose, all
excess costs of service, shall be charged to the
consumer, and the sum paid into the working fund of
the Water Department.
Section 2. That •Section 8-1-12 of the Village Code
of McCall, Idaho, be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
8-1-12: METER REQUIRED: The City shall install meters
on all services requiring measurement of water con-
sumed for billing purposes.
Section 3. That Section 8-1-39 of the Village Code
of McCall, Idaho, be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
8-1-39: TESTING METERS -.DEPOSIT REQUIRED: Where
the accuracy of the record of a water meter is ques-
tioned,by a consumer, it.shall be removed at his re-
quest, and shall be tested by the Water Department
by;means of the apparatus provided by the Water De-
partment, in the presence of.the consumer.if_,_he so
desires, and a report shall be made thereon to the
Water Rate Collector.' Both parties shall accept the
findings so made.- Before making such test, the con-
sumer at the time:of filing his request shall deposit
with:the Water Rate Collector, the sum herein named
for testing the said meter, according to the size
thereof:
For testing 3/_4 inch meter $25.00
For testing 1 inch meter 35.00
For testing 1 1/2inch meter- 35.00
For testing -2 inch meter 35.00
For testing 3 inch meter and larger 50.00
No meter shall be removed or in anyway disturbed,
.nor the seal ther--eof-broken' except in the presence
or under the _direction of the Watermaster.
Section 4. That Section 8-1-42.of the Village Code
of.McCall, Idaho, be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:.
8-1-42: PAYMENT 'OF..DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS - TURNING ON
WATER: No notice shall be required to be given to
any owner, lessee, or occupant of any premises, or
to any person interested therein, before the water
shall be turned off at any such premises because
of delinquency, but the terms of this Chapter shall
be deemed sufficient notice that the -water, under
such circumstances shall be shut.of_f_. The water shall
not be again turned on until such charges, including
the delinquency charge of ten percent (10%) and a
special charge of Sixty ($60.00) Dollars for shutting
off and turning on the water, shall have been added
to the face of the delinquent bill and the entire
sum paid.
Section 5. That Section 8-1-43 of the Village Code
of McCall, Idaho, be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
8-1-43: SCHEDULE OF CHARGES: All users of water in
said City are hereby classified as follows and shall
be charged at the rates hereinafter set forth,
to -wit:
._Class A. Single family dwellings, $4.00 per month,
-except for the months of June, July and August of each
year when such water charge shall be the sum of $5.00
per month. A demand for a water supply of one inch
(1") diameter pipe or larger will be classified as
a commercial user and charged as hereinafter set forth
for commercial users:.

Class B. Multiple family facility will be charged on
one billing only, at the rate of $4.00 per month' per
family, except for the months of June, July and
August of each year when such water charge shall be
$5.00 per month. .
Class C. Multiple family facility, separate billings
.to each tenant at the rate of $4.00 per month except
for the months of June, July •and August of each year
when such water charges shall be $5.00 per month. •
Class D. Apartments, that is to say, any room or group
of rooms that includes usual living and cooking
facilities shall:be charged to the record owner at
.the rate of $4.00 per month per apartment; each unit
of.a condominium•shall be classif_ied.as_an apartment.
Class E. Hotel or motel, at the rate of $6.00_ per
month plus overrun as hereinafter set forth.
Class F. Trailer -;park or trailer park/motel combination,
one charge at the rate of $6.00 per month plus over-
run as hereinafter set forth.
Class G. Business buildings housing apartments, such
apartments shall be charged as set forth in Class D
.above and each business therein shall be charged at
the rate of $6.00 per month -.per business plus overrun
as hereinafter set forth.
In..the event that plumbing in such business building
does not permit measurement of each overrun, the owner
of record of such premises shall be charged for the.
total monthly overrun of such building.
In.the event that any of such businesses share water
facilities with another business, only one monthly
charge shall be imposed for each such water facility
against the record owner of such premises.
Class H. All other business buildings.shall be charged
at the rate of $6.00 per month per business plus
overrun as hereinafter defined. -
-In the event.that plumbing in such business building
does not permit measurement of each overrun; the owner
of record of such premises shall be charged for the
total monthly overrun of such building.
In the event that any of such businesses share water
facilities with another business, only -one monthly
charge shall be imposed for each such water facility
against the record owner of such premises.
Class I. Churches, $d/.00 per month plus overrun.
Class J. Fraternal organizations; $4:00per month
plus overrun.
.OVERRUN. Overrun is defined as any and all water
over and above three thousand "(3,000) gallons per_
month. Charges.for overrun.are as follows:
(A).The'next five thousand (5,000) gallons at
sixty.cents (60 cents) per thousand (1,000) gallons.
(B): The -next ten'thousand (10,000) gallons at
forty cents (40 cents) per thousand (1,000) gallons.
(C) The next ten thousand (1.0,000) gallons at
thirty:cents (30 cents)_ per thousand (1,000) gallons.
(D)• At the rate of twenty cents (20 cents) for each
thousand ,.(1,000) gallons over and above twenty eight
thousand (28,000) gallons.. -
Section 6.. That Chapter 1 of Title ViII of the Village
_Code of McCall,.Idaho, be, and the same is hereby amended
by the addition of .a new -section thereto numbered 8-1-43A,
to read as follows:
8-1-43A: BILLING CYCLE: The -use of water for any
part of a month shall be billed as a whole month.
