AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 8-1-171 8-1-20
AND 8-1-21 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF McCALL, IDAHO,
RELATING TO CHARGES FOR TURNING CITY WATER ON
AND OFF; AND INCREASING SUCH CHARGES TO $30.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO , AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That Section 8-1-17 of the Village Code
of McCall, Idaho, is hereby amended to read as follows :
8-1-17 : TURNING OFF WATER: Whenever the owner
or occupant of any premises , connected with the city
watpk, supp1ymsystem desires , for any purpose, to
discontinue such service, he shall notify the Water
Rate Collector in w1iting, and shall pay up any
arrears or charges , if such there be. No charge
shall be made for the service during the time of
discontinuance, if the same is continued for not
less than one (1 ) month, but a fee of thirty
($30.00 ) dollars shall be charged and collected
for reading of meter and shutting off the water.
If the service is discontinued for less than one
(1 ) month, the minimum charge will be assessed,
and must be paid before the water is turned on,
for which latter service a $30.00 fee must be paid
in advance.
Section 2. That Section 8-1-20 of the Village Code
of the City of McCall, Idaho, is hereby amended to read
as follows :
8-1-20 : UNAUTHORIZED CONNECTIONS-MISDEMEANOR : When
water has been shut off from any premises , either
upon the application of the owner thereof, or for
non-payment of water charges , or for any other cause,
it shall be a misdemeanor for any person to again
connect such premises. with the city water supply
system except when specifically authorized so to do
by the Water master. The Watermaster may cause the
water. to be shut off at the main, or may remove a
portion of the service connection in the street.
In addition to the penalty in this Ordinance provided
for violations of its provisions , the Water Depart-
ment may charge to and collect from the owner of
the premises so illegally connected, the whole cost
of the disconnection and the re-connection, and the
penalty of thirty ( $30.00 ) dollars for shutting off
and turning on the water , the whole of such penalty
and charges to be paid before the water is again
turned on.
Section 3. That Section 8-1-21 of the Village Code
of McCall, Idaho, is hereby amended to read as follows :
8-1-21 : Turning on Water - Charges : Whenever water
is turned off, it shall not be turned on again until
after the payment of a charge of thirty ( $30.00 )
dollars for the said service.
