Mayor Dodson called the I:meetinL; to order.
Th3 minutes of the meetinL held Octob.:r 16, 1965 were
read approved and adopted. The financial and w. ^ .tor
report for Octob:.:r _965 was read wind approved. All
expenditur.;s included in this re_,ort were ap proved.
Mayor Dodson L,Lve th.: floor to Mr. Bissell who reported that
the drainage condition at OleLcnder way and Banyan Ro.,d was
terrible and wat,,r stands in this area for days at a time.
Mrs Dickenson stated that maF year- aL.;o Mayor Linds,y had
promis�:d that this ar.a would be included in the drainage
project undertaken alon Gull' itream Road. Mr. Iglehart
stated that he thought everyone must b: treated fairly and
in the past, all draina.;a -,;o--k had been paid for by the
property owners affected. Mr. Cole stated that water is
standin; on the ;polo :Melds at the south end for weeks at
a tir:e and is stuInant and a breeding plalco for mmsquitos.
He asked that a study be made to help drain this ;,rea on
old School Row and North Polo Drive. After a lan,hty
discussion of both drain,.L'.-e areas the Commission instructed
the Town Clork to saa•ch out all Toi,, records reb-arding
drainac and hav: them r:ady at the next meetin and also
to have Brockway, weber and Brockway review their drainage
data for discussion at the next meeting.
Mr. Dawson was ziiven the floor to complain about the stable
area and particularly the area between the stables and
AlA. Mr. Hart said the Town should hav:-, certain standards
that all property owners would be required to meet. Mr.
Iglehart said that the areas should be kept neat and clean
and the Town had no ri -ht to .)ass on the aesthetic values
of these areas. Mr. Pope said he had already spent '2,500.00
cleaninE, clearing and fixin- up the area, but that he
has his problems, and it all cant be clone ove-rni -ht.
Mayor Dodson urged Mr. Pope to continue with progress he
has made so frr and try to hav:- the area presenta!�le before
the season starts.
A letter from the Southeastern Underwriters Association was
read to the Commission. This letter is in reply to a letter
written at the request of Irr. Iglehart askin them for
assistance in a stuc.y of the development of a fire department
by the Town or jointly with neiZhboring communities.

Their letter stated they would be glad to assist in this study
but it would be several weeks before they could bein on
this work.
The Police reports for October 1965 were read.
Town Clerk Giaynn prasented oral information regarding pay
raises for four tovm employees. Mr. Iglehr.rt moved that
discussion be tabled until the next meeting and in the
meantime the Town Clerk present all information in writing
to each commissioner to study before the next meeting.
