SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING, MARCH 14, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
The Special Council Meeting of March 14, 2013, was convened at 8:00 A.M. by Mayor
Eric Struemph.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Bray, Carroll, Henry, Luebbert, Mihalevich, Pope, Schulte, and
Scrivner, and Weber
Absent: Pope and Prather
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF BUDGET ISSUES, RESIGNATIONS, AND MORALE
Mayor Eric Struemph asked Councilman Shawn Schulte to make comments at this time.
Councilman Schulte stated he plans to offer an amendment on Monday night, March 18,
to Bill 2012 -148 (Budget Adjustment) to provide for an additional $172,000 in budget
reductions which would not require any lay -offs or furloughs of City staff.
Interim Director of Finance / I.T. Bill Betts gave a presentation explaining the additional
cuts to the budget and answered questions asked by the Council.
Councilman Bob Scrivner read a prepared statement regarding budget issues and
actions taken by the Council to address the budget shortfall.
General comments were made by other Council Members, after which Mayor Struemph
read a prepared concluding statement.
RECONVENE
The meeting was reconvened at 8:15 A.M.
