HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd.12 - Children on Streets, at Night PenaltyORDINANCE NO.l1' Ai' ORDINANCE PROHIBITING CHILDREN FROH RUNNING ABOUT THE STREETS AT 4 NIGHT,GR PMITTING THE TO DO SO BY PERSONS HAVING THE CONTROL AND CUSTODY OF THEM,AND PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE POLICE,AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED,by the chairrnan and Board of Trustees of the village of McCa11,Boise County,idaho. Sec.I. No person under the age of sixteen years shall be permitted to go abroad upon or w6nder about the streets or public grounds,or any of the unoccupied lots in the Village of McCall,after the hour_ of nine o'clock at night,unless such person be accompanied by his or her parents or guardian,or unless such person shall have necessary business upon such street or other place. Sec.2. Any child violating; section I of this ordinance,or any person having care or custody of such child,who shall permit or allow 7 '' such child under his or her care,custody or control to violate this section,shall be fined in any sum not exceeding the sum of twenty—five dollars. $ec.3. It is hereby made the duty of the Policeman to apprehend all children found violating Section I of this ordinance,and. if the parent or other custodian of any such child or children can be found within the village,to take such child or children to said parent or guardian,and if the NR sum of one dollar is then and there paid to the officer,which shall be turned into the Village Treasurer,and refrain from making a complaint against such chlld,parent or guard.ian,but in case the sum of one dollar is not paid,it shall be the duty of Said officer to make a com— plaint against said child,parent or guardian. sec.)!-. It shall be the duty of the Village Policeman at the hours mentioned in Section I,of this ordinance,to ring or cause to be rung,the school or some other bell in the Village of McCa4 which shall be known as the "Curfew Bell" which shall be a signal for all children not authorized by this ordinance to be upon the streets,public grounds or unoccupied lots to repair to their several homes.
