Airport Manager McCall Municipal Airport 336 Deinhard Lane McCall, Idaho 83638 RE: Recommendation of Award AIP 3-16-0023-027-2020 Relocate Parallel Ta xiway A Rick, Sealed bids for relocation of Parallel Taxiway A at the McCall Municipal Airport were received and opened by the McCall City Clerk at 11 :00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2020. Two bids were received for the project. The bid results are summarized in the following table: Schedule A: Contractor Location Bid M. A. DeAtley Construction, Inc. Clarkston, Washington $6,643,177.50 Knife River Corporation – Mountain West Boise, Idaho $6,633,584.00 Knife River Corp. submitted the apparent low bid. The Engineer’s estimate was $8,660,253.00. A copy of the detailed bid tabulation is enclosed for your records. The bid submitted by Knife River Corp. was reviewed for bid submittal requirements and appears to be responsive. This company is a licensed public works contractor in the State of Idaho with the appropriate license category for the type of construction anticipated during this project. Knife River Corp. has indicated that will perform the excavation, aggregate production and placing as well as asphalt paving. Work to be subcontracted includes airfield electrical improvements. The total value of subcontracted work is approximately $181,405.00. There is no construction Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal for this project and Knife River Corp. has indicated they do not anticipate using DBE subcontractors. Award should be made contingent on concurrence of the FAA and the availability of federal grant funds. We will forward the Notice of Award and Agreement to you under a separate cover. The City of McCall will be required to send a copy of this letter to the FAA with a letter from the City seeking concurrence with our recommendation.
