ORDINANCE NO. 15092
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, SUBMITTING A
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON TO
ALLOW ELECTIONS IN FEBRUARY AND ALL OTHER DATES ALLOWED IN
MISSOURI STATUTES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Article VIII (NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS) of the Charter of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, is amended by the addition of a new Section 8.5 to read as follows:
Section 8.5. City Election Dates.
The City Council may schedule elections on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in
February, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March, the first Tuesday after the first Monday
in April, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in August, the first Tuesday after the first Monday
in November or on any date available pursuant to Missouri Law.
Section 2. The amendment as set forth in Section 1 shall be submitted to the
qualified voters of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the it approval, at the election to be
held on the 8th day of April 2014 6ffi , at the places designated by
the Election Authority for said election and the ballot shall be in substantially the
following form:
PROPOSITION
Shall Article VIII (Nomination and Elections) of the Charter of the City of
Jefferson be amended to allow elections to occur on the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in February, on all other currently allowed election
dates, or any other election day allowed by State Statute in the future, as
provided in Ordinance No. 15902 passed and approved by the City
Council on March 18, 2013.

SUBSTITUTE
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval.
