OF GOVERNMENT" OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET FOR
THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING REQUIREMENTS REGARDING
THE BOROUGH ENGINEER
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret, Middlesex
County, that Chapter 4 "Administration of Government" of the Revised General
Ordinances of the Borough of Carteret be amended as follows:
Section 4-20C (3) shall be amended to read in its entirety as follows:
"As compensation for his/her duties the Borough Engineer shall
either (i) be paid on an hourly basis pursuant to a professional services
agreement setting forth an hourly rate; or (ii) receive a salary per annum as
provided in the Salary Ordinance, payable in the same manner as other
salaried borough employees are paid, which may be increased by the Mayor
and Council.
2. Section 4-20C (4) shall be amended to read in its entirety as follows:
"The Borough Engineer shall supervise all of the Department of Engineering
and its employees, and with the assistance of his/her subordinate employees,
if any, he/she shall perform all duties imposed upon said Department. He/she
shall not perform any work relating to professional engineering within the
limits of the Borough of Carteret except his/her duties for the borough.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final adoption and publication
according to law.
