ORDINANCE NO. 2 .
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE CASCADE TELEPHONE COLLPA.NY,A
CORPORATION, A TWENTY-FIVE ( 25) YEAR FRANCHISE FOR INSTALLING,
7) MAINTAINING AND OPERATING A POLE LINE AND ELECTRIC TELEPHONE
SYSTEM ON CERTAIN HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE VILLAGE OF
McCALL,UNDER CERTAIN SPECIFIED CONDITIONS,
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF Mc CALL; -
SECTION I . There is hereby granted to the Cascade Telephone
Company of Cascade, Idaho, the right and privilege to install,
maintain and operate a pole line and electric telephone system in
the Village of McCall, Idaho, for a period of twenty-five ( 25 ) years
i from and after the passage and approval of this ordinance. Said
franchise, rights and privileges shall terminate ucon said Cascade
Telephone Company failing,refusing or neglecting to comply with

any of the following terms conditions or requirements, to wit:

( 1 ) Said telephone system shall have overhead wires supported
by poles set in the highways, stueets and alleys hereinafter speci-
fied and said poles shall be of such size and height and so set,
guyed,maintained and kept up and so insulated and protected as not
to injure or endanger life,person or property. All poles shall be
of such height and size and all wires shall be of such size mad
strung at such height above the ground and all insulations shall be
so made,maintained and kept up as to comply with the rules of the
Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific , the laws of the State
of Idaho,and the rules and regulations of the Public Utilities
Commission of the State of Idaho.

( 2 ) On the highways and streets hereinafter specified the
telephone poles of said system shall be placed just inside the curb
line of said highways and streets, and in the alleys hereinafter
specified all said poles shall be placed eighteen ( 18) inches from
the property line, and said poles shall be so placed,guyed and braced
as not to injure or inconvenience any owner of property or the
public in said Village. If,at any future time, any building in
said Village is so altered or repaired or any new building is so
built that any poles,guy-wire, brace or arm or any part of the said
telephone system shall interfer with any entrance,window,wall,roof
or any other part of said building or with the business therein
carried on or with the public 's getting into,to or out of such build-
ing, said Cascade Telephone Company shall change such poles,guy-wire,
brace,arm or other part of said telephone system so that the same
will not so interfere.
(3) Said pole line and electric telephone system installed here-
under may be located on any highway outside of the platted portion
of the Village of McCall that may be selected by the said Cascade
Telephone Company and poles on such highway or highways so selected
shall be set eighteen ( 18 ) inches from the property line. In the
platted portion of the Village of McCall said pole line shall or may
run along all the alleys,and along all the streets running perpendi-
cularly to Main Street.
