HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 66 - Monthly Water Rates and Rules Lec‘ z wr O R D I N A N C E No. . 11A, • AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE MONTHLY RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE VILLAGE OF MCCALL FOR WATER FROM ITS WATER MAINS THRU METER CONNECTIONS, AND ESTABLISHING METERS, FIXING A MINIMIIM RENTAL, PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF WATER RENTAL MONTHLY, PREa SCRIBING RULES, REGULATIONS AND RATES FOR THE CONDUCT AND GOVERNMENT OF TEE SYSTEM OF WATER WORKS AND SEWERS OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MCCALL, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE, +UAKING IT A MISDEMEANOR FOR VIOLATION OF SECTION EIGHT THEREIN, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. Be it ordained by the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of McCall, Idaho; Section 1. All connections to the water mains of the Village of McCall shall be thru meters. Section 2. The monthly meter rates for the use of water shall be as follows: J , �1.46 The first 3000 gallons - - - - $1.25; 3 The minimum charge 1.25; 49 5- �'� i all over 3000 gallons at the rate of 15 cents /"" �� � der 1000 gallons. y Section 3. The water rental shall be paid monthly. The charges for the use of water for any month shall become due on the 1st day of the following month, and shall be paid on or before the tenth day of the month in which the payment becomes due. Section 4. Where there are two or more occupancies in any building using water from the same tap, or occupancies on any premises using water from the same tap, each occupancy shall be &narged the minimum rate; and the minimum number of gallons (.K-A shall be multiplied by the number of occupancies before any users are entitled to the reduction in price for any additional number of gallons over and above such product of the minimum. IL- 2 Section 5. On and after the passage of this ordinance, the costs of taps and meters combined, including costs of in- stallation, shall be the sum of ' ,„ ,1) , which shall be paid by the comsumer. Section 6. In addition to his other duties, the Village Clerk shall have power and it shall be his duty to collect all water rents, and give receipts therefor, and if any water rental is not paid within 10 days from date when due, to shut off the water from the premises; and any person , firm or corpo- ration, violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall have their water shut off, and shall be charged a sum of $ 2.50 as connecting charges, which must be paid before said water can be turned on again. Section 7® Applications for permits for making connection with the city water mains must be made by the owner of the premises, or his duly authorized agent, with which such connections are to be made, and such applications shall contain a full, true and accurate statement of the size of the connection, the manner of connecting, the point at which connection is to be made, and a description of all the premises with which such connection is to be made, together with the full name or names of all the owners thereof, and such further facts as may be useful in the management of said system; and such application shall contain a full, true and accurate statement of the approximate quantity and the uses and purposes for which such water is obtained, and an agreement on the part of such owner or owners to conform to all the rules and regulations provided for said water works system, and that the charge therefor, as well as for the use of all the water, shall be a lien upon the premises upon which said .3. water is used , and with which said connections are made as a condition for the use of such water; and if said application is made by an agents said agent shall deposit with the Village Clerk the written authority of the owner or owners of said premises, authorizing the said applicant as the owner' s agent, to. make such application, and no connection with the Village water main shall be made, and no water shall be introduced into any connection here- tofore or hereafter made therewith, unless a permit has been first issued by the Village Clerk in compliance and conformity with this rule and with the rules and regulations that are now or may hereafter be established therefor. Section 8. It shall unlawful for any person, firm or cor- poration using water from the village water works system for the purposesof sprinkling or irrigation to use such water during a fire, and all such consumers of water shall immediately shut off the water used for sprinkling or irrigation when the fire alarm is sounded, and shall not turn the same on again until after the fire department has ceased to use the water for fire purposes. Section 9. Any person, persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of Section 8 herein, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less that $5.00 and not more than 025.00. Section 10. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed . Section 11. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
