Ordinance No 63
�,. AN ORDIINNCE PROVIDING FOR THE TAXING OF DOGS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF PROVIDING FOR THE SIDTRUCTIONS OF VICIOUS DOGS
ON THIGH THE TAX IS NOT PAID.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND THE TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MCCALL
IDAHO.
SECTION No 1.
IT shall not be lawful for any person to own. or keep or - I
harbor any dog, male or female, within the Village of McCall, Idaho without
paying a lisence tax thereof, as herein provided..
SECTION 2
The lisence for every male dog and every female dog which -).4,1_
has been. spayed shall be three dollars ($3.00) and. for every female dog
njia not spayed, five dollars $5.00) per year. No lisence tax shall be paid
for less than one year` unless the dog was brought within the Village
within the vear, in which case the lisence tax shall be proportioned to
the time be'Lween the date when such dog was brought within said. Village
and the first day of June following.
SECTION 3.
License tags , The owner or person in charge of any dog,
male or female within the Village of McCall shall, before the first day
of June of each year, pay to the Village Treasurer, the sum of three
dollars (S3.00) for each male dog and for each female dog which has been.
spayed, and the sum of five dollars ($5.00) for every female dog
as a license tax upon such dog. The Clerk shall furnish with each receipt
a metal to which shall be stamped with the number to correspond with then C`3 1
number of the receipt and the fiscal year for which issued.In case a dog -1
is brought wityhin the Village of McCall within the dog license year as
herein designated, the owner or person having such dog in charge shall pay
the Treasurer the mount as specified in section 2. The Clerk shall keep
a suitable suitable record of the receipt issued under the provisions
of this section.
SECTION 4.
The metal tag as described in section 3 of this 7 - 4 . 1
Ordinance shall be attached to a collar which the owner pr person in charge of
the dog shall provide and which shall be placed and. kept upon the neck of
the dog so licensed.
SECTION 5.
All dogs not licensed and collared as herein provided
are hereby declared to be public nuisances, and it is the duty of the pond
master,or other suitable person by him appointed, to take up and impond
any dog not licensed and. collared as in t ais ordinance required.. Every dog?-7l
so seized shall be retained in the pond for a space of forty eight hours.
At any time during said period of forty eight hours:the owner or keeper
of such dog may redeem the same by procuring a receipt as in this ordinance •
provid.ed,and paying in addition a fee to the pond. master of $1.00 which
shall be paid. by him into the Village Treasurer.j At the expiration of
forty eight hours after imponding any dog,the pondmaster, is authorized.
to sell any finch dog to any person not t ae owner or keeper thereof,f_or
the sum of S1.00 which shall be paid by him into the Village Treasurer.
In case any such dog be not redeemed or sold. as herein provided., the pond—
master or person appointed by him, shall kill the same, and the carcass
shall be disposed of either by burial or cremation.
SAC T I ON 6
The pomd master or any person appointed by him shall(iective'
the sum of fifty cents for each dog killed and burried or cremated..
SECTION 7
If the owner or possessor of a fierce dangerous or
mischievous dog permits the same to go at large, he shall be liable to be
fined in any sum not to exceed fifty dollars, and it is the duty of the• �i 7
Chief of Police to kill any such dog found. running at large, and. it shall
be lawful for anyl person to kill any such dog found running at large with
in the Village of McCall. • ,!

The owner or possessor of any female dogwho permits the
,-'same to rub at large while in. heat, shall be liable to a fine in any sum
not exceeding twenty f. ive 'd.ollars.
SECTION 9
Any person who shall suffer or cause a number and. colla / '
to be put or kept on an dog with intent to avoid payment of license, shall
upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred
dollars.
SECTION 10 7.91,
Any person who shall possess, harbor or be in charge of any

dog within the Village of McCall, who shall fail, refuse or neglect to
viuk ay the license tax as this ordinance provided, shall upon conviction
hereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars.
SECTION 11 •
Any person who shall hinder, molest or interfere with
any person or persons who are engaged in seizing any dog, kill the //
same or removing the carcass, shall upon convictione thereof, be fin
in any sum not exceeding One hundred. dollars.
SECTION 12
Any person who shall make false representation
as to time when dog under his controll has been brought into
the Village of McCall1 Idaho, during the license year for the purpose / l-
of avoiding payments the amount of license required of him by this 7" �
ordinance shall be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred. dollars.
SECTION 13
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with
this Ordinance are hereby repealed .
