Home My Public Portal AboutBoWS 2019-04-17 ORLEANS TORN CLERK ef- MEETING OF THE ORLEANS '19 JUN 18 9:01Ri1 BOARD OF WATER/SEWER COMMISSIONERS April 17, 2019 A meeting of the Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners was held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the Nauset Room, Town Hall: Those present were Robert Rich, Herbert Kinney, Kenneth Rowell and Richard Hartmann of the Board; Leonard Short Associate Member of the Board and Todd Bunzick and Susan Brown of the Water Department. Absent was John Meyer of the Board and Tom Daley, Director of Public Works and Natural Resources. Kenneth Rowell called the Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. MINUTES On a motion by Herbert Kinney seconded by Leonard Short the Board voted to approve the minutes of the meeting of March 22, 2019. The vote by the Board was 4-0-1 with Robert Rich abstaining as he was not present for the meeting. WATER DEPARTMENT REPORT. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT CELLULAR WATER METERS • Meter installations began with seasonal meters April 9, 2019 with a single crew that includes water department personnel. Eventually there will be 5 crews • supplied by USI replacing about 60 meters per day. Substantial completion of the project is anticipated for November 2019. WELL 7 TO WTP PROJECT Bids for the water main portion of the project came in with Robert Our Company as the low bidder for the project at $750,527.00 with bid alternate A at $174,400.00 for a total of $924,927.00. The alternate would be for Water Department staff to install water main on the portion of the project that is on town owned land. FLUSHING The annual flushing program began April 17, 2019 and will end on approximately May 7th or 8th RAP IN THE WATERSHED The pile has been covered and taped and weighted. Since making the newspaper, there has been a steady stream of cars in the watershed. Additional Minutes 4/17/2019 1 signage has been added in attempt to keep unauthorized vehicles out. NEW BUSINESS COMMITMENTS/ABATEMENTS/REFUNDS A motion was made by Leonard Short seconded by Richard Hartmann to commit for the month of March 2019 to rate $0.00, to installations $1,911.40, to services $600.00, to usage $0.00 and to added billing $99.21.The vote by the Board was 5-0-0. A motion was made by Robert Rich seconded by Richard Hartmann to abate $10.00 from account#3455 due to an error in payment posting. The vote by the Board was 5-0-0. ADJOURNMENT At 1:47 p.m., a motion was made by Leonard Short and seconded by Herbert Kinney to adjourn the meeting. The vote by the Board was 5-0-0. LIST OF DOCUMENTS USED 1.
