THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORDINANCE NO. 3{)/J
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND PROVIDING FOR
SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS; ESTABLISHING
AND PROVIDING FOR THE MONTHLY RETAINER FEE
TO BE PAID TO THE CITY A TIORNEY OF THE CITY OF
BEL AIRE, KANSAS; PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD
OF PAYMENT THEREOF; AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 301 AND ALL OTHER
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1. Salaries Established
There is hereby established and provided the following salaries for the
following designated officers and employees of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas, to-wit:
City Administrator. . . . . $25,850.00 per year
City Clerk. . . . . . . . . . . $32,968.00 per year
Chief of Police. . . . . .. $37,000.00 per year; however, between April 1,
1998 and July 7, 1998, in lieu of salary, the City of
Bel Aire shall reimburse the City of Wichita,
Kansas, on a monthly basis, the salary paid to
Wichita Police Sgt. Donald R. Munday, pursuant to
Wichita's salary ordinance, as well as the amount of
Wichita's contribution required for the benefits
provided by Wichita, as well as the amount of the
retirement contribution which Wichita is required to
make to the Police and Fire Retirement System as
a result of the continued employment of Sgt.
Munday, pursuant to the terms of an Agreement
between the City of Bel Aire and the City of Wichita.
Zoning Administrator. . .$1,200.00 per year
Municipal Judge. . . . . . . $175.00 per session of court
City Prosecutor. . . . . . . $187.50 per prosecutor per session of court
Section 2. Retainer Fee Established
There is hereby established and provided a monthly retainer fee of $1 ,050.83
to be paid to the City Attorney of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas, effective January 1,
1998.
Section 3. Method of Payment
The foregoing salaries and retainer fee shall be effective January 1, 1998 and
may be paid in monthly, quarterly or annual payments in proper proportionate
amounts as may be deemed advisable by the City of Bel Aire, Kansas.
Section 4. Repeal
Ordinance number 301 is hereby repealed. All other ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed. However, any section of an existing
ordinance not in conflict herewith is not repealed and remains in full force and effect.
Section 5. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from April 1 , 1998, after its
publication in the official city newspaper.
