Doyle Landscaping (phone 786-7113) is the contractor. Jan wants to be kept informed of the processing. The questions I have before issuing the permit have to do with the impact on drainage. The proposal is to remove concrete and then elevate /level /grade the area and install brick pavers. Please determine if this permit can be issued. What I was thinking of that changed concerned a change to 3 -200 that you referred to & it was changed recently to delete a provision that specifically said "carports may be placed anywhere within the property boundaries." At the same time, 3- 070(C) was added to require carports( as accessory structures) to be 5 ft off a property line. That is what I was recalling as possibly impacting this or what I thought might have changed the parking situation. The bottom line is it did not change for driveways. The greenspace issue I was referring to, dealt with permeable material being required for at least 65% of the setback area on a parcel.That was section 3 -165 that was also recently changed — in June 2011.' I think Steele is wrong & driveways /parking is not subject to the building setback under the current ordinances.. Note that the permit that was issued (see page 5 of attachment S35C) left the southern portion of the parking area as concrete, but the northern part of the parking area was concrete to be removed and replace with pavers. There was supposed to be grass between the pavers and the property line, but in the photograph it looks like the concrete at the front (south) was continued to the rear (north) to form the elevated wall to hold the pavers. Kimberly Doyle clarified that only a portion of the concrete in the middle of the existing mass of concrete is being removed to allow for replacement with a pervious modular brick paving area. Concrete will remain on the east, south and west sides of the new porous brick driveway. The house will be on the north side. As such demolition will create a hole with all removed concrete being placed in a dump truh and hauled off As a precautionary measure Kim and Barry have agreed to place a few straw bales in the north swale of 7th Terrace. No further structural BMP's should be necessary. I'll observe the site as part of my routing E &S inspections next week.
