A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
TERMINATING THE ST. FRANCIS MEDICAL CENTER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR
THE USE OF THE CITY OWNED PARKING FACILITY AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO SIGN A MONTH-TO-MONTH AGREEMENT WITH ST. FRANCIS UNTIL
SUCH TIME AS A FINAL PARKING AGREEMENT IS BROUGHT BACK TO THE
CITY COUNCIL FOR CONSIDERATION
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2004, the City Council approved to enter into a
License Agreement with St. Francis Medical Center for the use of the Natatorium
parking lot and parking spaces along Cesar Chavez Lane, along with the waiving of
meter fees for 100 public parking spaces as designated; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement indicates an automatic renewal on October 1 of
each year, providing that the license has not been revoked by the City or terminated by
the licensee and that both entities have agreed on the monthly fee for the license; and
WHEREAS, the City has opted to terminate its agreement with St. Francis
Medical Center for use of City owned parking facility; and
WHEREAS, the City will enter into a month-to-month agreement with St. Francis
Medical Center until staff finalizes a new parking agreement for Council consideration.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to enter into a month-to-
month agreement with St. Francis Medical Center at the same price of the existing
Agreement until such time a new Agreement is brought back for Council's
consideration.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute the agreement.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16 day of August, 2011.
