Papas, Town Council Clerk FROM: Committee on Personnel & Town Organization Angeline B. Kounelis, Chair Mark Sideris, Vice Chair John Donohue, Secretary RE: Compensation of the Council Clerk DATE: June 5, 2007 The job scope of the Council Clerk's position has never been fully defined. Lack of specified duties causes incoming Councilors to follow existing patterns which creates uncertain expectations. All Councilors perform their duties independently and are not on-site at the Town Hall on a daily basis. For this reason, it is important to evaluate the clerk's position and justify the hours required to perform all the current tasks. Within the next two weeks, please respond to the following: 1. In your capacity as the Council Clerk, how do you individually support/assist the Council President and each of the eight Town Councilors on a daily basis? 2. Please break-down the approximate hours required to perform each of the basic job requirements of your position, i.e. attending monthly Council meetings, transcribing Council minutes, formatting proclamations/resolutions/ordinances, posting meeting notices, preparing Council packages for delivery, etc. 3. In addition to the aforenoted basics, what additional job functions do you perform, for the Council as a whole, in your daily routine? 4. On average, how many residents call with inquiries on a daily basis? Thank you cc: Honorable Town Council T/emc erJ'T M3 uric-r'/ 1 01411ye lase 70-/w AWOIJVZ-
