The meeting was called to order at 12:01 by the chairman, Walt Lee. Airport Manager John Anderson and committee members Eric Hagen and Gordon Eccles were in attendance. Public members. included Kevin Bissell of T-O Engineers, Brian O'Morrow, and Mike Anderson. 2. The minutes from the June 4th meeting were approved unanimously. 3. Airport Manager's Report: • EA Meeting with City Council-- attended by FAA representatives Stan Allison and Paul Holmquist. All options with respective costs were reviewed. Infatuation regarding an update of traffic forecasts and the cost of placing the taxiway at 300' vs. 240' are to be prepared by the consultant with a follow-up public meeting to be held soonest. The Council opted to defer the decision to a later date. • An amendment to the instrument approach which lowers the visibility to one mile was approved by FAA. Toothman-Orton is measuring tree -heights today for data collection on Runway 16 straight -in approach. • AIP 15 & 17 Snow Removal Equipment (SRE)-- snow plow, broom, front-end scoop, and blower-- has been received. Final reimbursement will be made shortly. • AIP 16 (ARRA/Stimulus Funds)-- Due to a delay in acquiring all three types of crushed rock by Valley Paving, construction has been delayed until the expected date of August 17th, which will create an expected one -month delay in completing the taxiway -repair project (end of September). " Runway Reconstruction- 1) Construction timing is dependent on: o Congress moving grant -program timing up. o FAA adjusting the grant schedule. o Toothman-Orton Engineering doing the bid paperwork. o AAC considered both an early construction period beginning about the middle of May, or a late construction period beginning in late September. 2) Looking for a 2 '/z% grant -match from the State. 3) The construction method could include a "mixed" base of recycled taxiway -asphalt and cement, as has been done at the Hailey airport. This recycling will help with "sustainability" and be a green project. " Vehicle parking on tie -down spaces and elsewhere the issues will be reviewed in October during the committee's Minimum -Standards and Rules -and -Regulations review. " Summer -Fly in 2010/2011 Considering the long advance -time for setting up a "mini -air -show," as well as for seeking possible financial assistance from the Idaho Travel Council (ITC) for a "Family Fly - In," if also desired, the Committee recommended that either/both events be scheduled for 2011, with a letter sent to the City Council and application made to ITC for funding. " Moving the ASOS weather station will be complete by August 14h. Brian O'Morrow stated from the audience that pasture grass would be acceptable for reseeding. 4. The meeting was adjourned at 1:26 P.M. the next Committee meeting is scheduled for September 3`d at 12:00 noon/Legion Hall.
