A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF MARCH 5, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SECTION 92.03(3)
AND SECTION 92.04(4)(A) OF CHAPTER 92, TO INCREASE THE LATE PAYMENT
AND NON-PAYMENT FEE
Whereas, the City Council recognizes the need to have a late payment fees and non-
payment fees that cover the cost of the billing and shut-off process; and,
Whereas, the costs of those two processes are not being covered by the amount stated
in the current City Code,
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, to set the
date for a public hearing for March 5, 2024, to amend the Municipal Code of Tiffin, Iowa,
Section 92.03(3) and Section 92.04(4)(a) of Chapter 92, to increase the late payment
and non-payment fee.
On the 20th day of February, 2024, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Olney introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2024-012, A RESOLUTION
SETTING THE DATE OF MARCH 5, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SECTION 92.03(3) AND SECTION
92.04(4)(A) OF CHAPTER 92, TO INCREASE THE LATE PAYMENT AND NON-
PAYMENT FEE and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson
Orris.
Ayes: Olney, Schnedler, Limkemann, Havens, Orris.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor
Kasparek declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2024-012, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE
DATE OF MARCH 5, 2024, FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SECTION 92.03(3) AND SECTION 92.04(4)(A) OF
CHAPTER 92, TO INCREASE THE LATE PAYMENT AND NON-PAYMENT FEE to be
adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 20th day of February, 2024.
