Mayor Koch called the meeting to order. Mr. Hart moved that the
minutes of the meeting held on March 8, 1968 be approved as written
and the reading of these minutes be waived. Mr. LaPorte seconded
the motion. Motion passed.
Mr. LaPorte moved that the minutes of the Board of Equalization
meeting of March 29, 1968 be approved as written and the reading
of these minutes be waived. Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
Mr. Hart moved that the Financial Report for March be approved as
written and all expenses included in the report be approved. Mr.
LaPorte seconded the motion. Motion passed.
A letter from Col. Cecil P. Young was read in which he stated that
he thought approval given him during the March 8, 1968 Commission
Meeting was for a two story garage. The Commissioners agreed that
this was not the case, that approval was for a one story garage
only and that if Col. Young desired a two story garage he would
have to submit a new request for this.
Police reports for March were read.
Ordinance No. 68 -2 concerning increased cigarette taxation was dis-
cussed. Due to the time element involved Mr. LaPorte moved that
this Ordinance be adopted as an Emergency Ordinance to take effect
immediately. Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The Town Clerk then read the Ordinance in full.
Mayor Koch brought up the water situation in the area due to the
dry spell. Mr. Hart stated that he felt the water supply at this
time was sufficient to supply the needs of the Town. Following
discussion it was agreed to hqve reports for each Commission meet-
ing with regard to the water situation.
Mr. Hart read a letter he had received from Highland Beach in regard
to the proposed special road tax district for the South county area.
Following discussion, Mr. Iglehart moved that the Town be on record
at this time as being opposed to this special tax plan. Mr. Hart
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Mr. J. Davis Danforth of 4140 County Road requested that Florida
Power & Light Company be notified to place a shield on the light
across from his home to keep the light from shining directly into
his home. The Town Clerk was instructed to have this done.

Mr. Iglehart stated that the Health Department was questioning the
sewage plans for the clubhouse in connection with the Par 3 golf
course. Following discussion it was agreed to await further develop-
ments on this matter.
Mr. Lilienthal stated that for the record these minutes reflect that
the meeting was moved up one day due to tomorrow being Good Friday
and that all the Commissioners are present and agreed to this. The
Commissioners then acknowledged their agreement.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the
meeting was adjourned.

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE TOWN COMMISSIONERS
SITTING AS A BOARD OF EQUALIZERS ON:
MARCH 29, 1968
The Town Commissioners of Gulf Stream, Florida, met at the
Town Hall in Gulf Stream, Florida at 10:00 a.m. on March 29,
1968 to hear and consider any complaints of the taxpayers
and to receive and equalize values of real estate and im-
proved property on the Town's tax assessment rolls as of
January 1, 1968.
A motion was made to recess the meeting of the Town
Commissioners sitting as a Board of Equalizers until
10:00 a.m. on August 9, 1968. The motion was seconded
and was then passed unanimously.
The Commissioners agreed to reconvene at Gulf Stream
Town Hall at 10:00 a.m. on August 9, 1968.
