Minutes of Public Hearing
Monday, February 24, 2020
The Brewster Old King' s Highway Regional Historic District Committee, acting under the
Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 470, Acts of 1973 as amended December 24, 1975 , came
to order at 7 : 00 pm in the Brewster Town Hall . Committee members present were Carol
Appleton, Tom Turcketta , Jim Trabulsie ( Chairman ) , Patricia Busch , George Carey, Steven
Bergquist and Sara Provos (Administrative Assistant ) .

Terrence Walsh , 157 Fox Meadow Drive, Map 101 Lot 31
Doors and Windows
■ Owner Terrence Walsh attended and reviewed the application with the committee .
■ The following windows will not change at this time ;
o Window #2 - Garage Fixed Hexagon
o Window #24 ,111111, Dining Room Casement
o Window #5 — Dining Room Rectangle
■ No mulled windows .
■ Trim and grills will be white .
■ Windows will be either Jeld -Wen or Anderson 400 Series .
■ Sample of paint color for doors will be brought into the Building Department for HDC
Committee approval .
■ Tom Turcketta moved to approve as amended . Carol Appleton seconded .

■ Owner Francis Zarette attended the meeting .
■ Mr . Zarette is proposing to add a 10x14 one ( 1 ) car garage .
■ Jim Trabulsie read into record emails received from abutters .
■ Mr . Zarette stated that all exterior features on the addition will match the existing
dwelling .
■ Tom Turcketta moved to approve as proposed . Patricia Busch seconded .
■ All voted in favor.

Steven and Carol Rosner, 26 Stuart Street, Map 69 Lot 71
Addition
■ Anthony Pond on behalf of the homeowners reviewed the plans with the committee .
■ Mr. Pond stated that some of the windows that were previously approved by the
committee would be re- used on the addition .
■ An abutter, Craig Wilson stated he had a concern with the street access on this project .
Mr . Trabulsie stated that Mr . Wilson ' s concern was outside of the HDC' s prevue .
■ Carol Appleton moved to approve as proposed . George Carey seconded .
■ All voted in favor .

Demolition
■ Jeff Kevan with TF Moran , Inc . , Ann McManus, CEO and Brian Benevides and of Latham
were present .
■ Mr . Kevan reviewed the site plan and depicted the buildings on the property that would
be demolished .
■ Patricia Busch stated that there was no historical significance of the buildings on this
property .
■ Tom Turcketta moved to approve as presented . Patricia Bush seconded .
■ All voted in favor .

Exterior Renovations
■ No one was present to review this application with the committee .
■ Jim Trabulsie recommended that this application be continued to the next meeting .
■ Tom Turcketta moved to approve continuing to the March 9th meeting . Carol Appleton
seconded .
■ All voted in favor .

Windows, Doors and Siding
■ Owner Charles VanBuren reviewed the plans with the committee .
■ Mr . VanBuren would like to replace the shingles in the front of the home with clapboard ,
painted grey .
■ Breezeway area will also be clapboard .
■ Cedar shingles to remain on the side of the home .
■ Front door will be painted black .
■ All windows will black 4 over 1 .
■ Patricia Busch moved to approve as presented . Carol Appleton seconded .
■ All voted in favor .
