January 5, 1959
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of McCall was held on
the above date and the following business transacted.
Members present were:
Roberts
Ruark
Burnside
Fogg "
Fortin Absent
Fogg moved the meeting of December 1, 1958 be adjourned which motion was
seconded by Ruark anddecla red carried unanimously.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Regarding the proposed purchase of the Wes4cott Oil property, a letter .from
O. R. Baum, attornies for Westcott Oil Co. was read discussing the Westcott
Oil Co. contract to purchase. There followed a short discussion on the contract
following which the matter was turned over to Spence.
The letter to the CAA regarding the grant offer on participation of the South
ground was read to the Board in which the grant offer was declinedbdue to
item # 8 was read. The background of the requirements that would placed
upon the Village under item # 8 wasbriefly discussed.
The map for use by the Zoning Commission of the Village was briefly discussed
and Fogg was to check on the possibility of using aerial photographs.
Regarding the uniform traffic code, the possibility of change during this
Legislature was discussed.
The PTA recommendations on Safety to the Village Board were discussed and
Ackaret reported that he was keeping the street open between the Ranger's
office and the Hospital. Blake reported on his recommendations regarding
a 15 Mi per hour zone at the School District and a three-way stop street
where the road goes through the cut. Roberts suggested that a plan be
presented at the next Board meeting for approval.
The Pete Stewart matter wqs briefly reviewed.
Roberts reported on a talk with McBride regarding assistance in putting the
new fire truck in shape for fire protection outside the Village limits.
McBride suggested that Whew6iftr-dnttCttheiBoardr,ot Commissioners is reorganized
and then make our request. The various problems such as who would donate,
how much, etc. were briefly discussed.
Burnside reported cn May's conversation to raise the Golf salary and make a.
year around job for the Golf course operator. Burnside proposed him as Fire
Chief and also as Leonard's helper. The Board would consider it at the next
budget meeting and met with tentative approval.
The salary and duties of the Fire Chief were briefly discussed following
which Burnside suggested they work for a month to see how much time it takes
to check the fire ptugs,maintain the Fire truck, etc.
The Golf course encroachment from the Dewey -Davis estate was discussed.
Spence was instructed to check on the accuracy of the Dewey -Davis claim.
The W. W. Lord request was noted, regarding the water and sewer request.
Ruark reported that he wanted the Police Light cord removed from his building
and would require our ladder to take care of same. Blake was to take care of
the snow removal on the Peabody property and Spence was instructed to draft
a letter to Martha Avn Peabody stating that the sidewalk must be kept clean.

Fogg moved the bills be aviproved and ordered paid which motion was
seconded by Burnside and declared carried unanimously.
No further business coming before the Board the
recessed until the call of the Chair.
