A regular( meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of McCall was
held on the above date and the following business transacted.
Members present were Roberts Present
Fogg er
Burnside
Fortin
Ruark Absent
Also present was Charles Spence, the Village attorney.
Fogg moved the meeting of January 1959 be adjourned which motion was
seconded by Burnside and carried unanimously.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
No further report on the Westcott property was made at this time.
The street completion on the Dewey -Davis sub -division was briefly
discussion and it was the opinion of the Bard that aboit 210 feet
remain to be constructed.
Regarding the crossing on Stibnite Avenue tothe School House on Union
Pacific railway, Spence and Paul Drew inspected the crossing and Drew
suggested a letter be written as the estimated cost by the UP appear to
be unreasonable. Spence read a copy of a Letter to UPRR protesting the
cost of the installation and no answer had been received as yet.
Roberts reported on a conversation with Roberts/and Sm'th on the map for
the zoning of the Village which could be drawn through the Idaho Municipal
League. The map cost ap,oroximately $100 and they would also provide a
Zoning Guide. Following discussion Fogg moved the Board authorized Roberts
to negotiate it with the Idaho Municipal League on the drawing of the map
for zoning purposes. The motion was seconded by Burnside and declared
carried unanimously.
Roberts presented a traffic code from the Idaho Municipal League tbat
takes care of everyt ing necessary for enforcement on a city or Village
level.
Blake presented his recommendations oh speeds, stop -signs, and etc. on
the School Zone. Following discussion the Board referred the matter to
be cleared with Ruark. A discussion on the proposed speed limits
for referat..to Ruark were speeds of 20 mi per hour and 5 stop signs
on the back streets and streets converging on the cementary road to the
School House.
The towing costs of cars off the street during the winter time when the
streets were plowed were discussed. It was the opinion of the Board that
cards should be printed up to be distributed for conventions and tourists
through the hotels,, and taping places in the Village. Roberts reported on
the critizisam resulting from the towing of cars at the recent convention.
Discussion of a map on the card showing parking areas, etc. was briefly
discussed.
The construction of a dog pound was also briefly discussed.
Burnside presented the completed plans on the proposed caddie house.
Following discussionBurnside was to get copies made of the plans and cost
estimates to be presented to the Board.
Burnside reported the Progressive Club request to keep the grass by the
Public Dock watered and the installation of benches.
Spence reported on the Snow removal ordinance following which Burnside
introduced and moved the adoption of proposed ordinance # 209, an ordinance
providingtthat owners, tenants, or occupants of certain Land shall be
required to remove all snow, rubbish and ioe from any sidewalk abutting
such land within 24 hrs. of the occurance of such condition and providing
that the Village may removes' such snow, rubbish or ice when said owner,
occupant or tenant shall fail fo do so within said time and thereafter
assessed the cost thereof against the premises abutting the sidewalks. Fogg
moved the rules b8 suspended for the passage of proposed ordinance #209 which
motion wasseconded by Fortin and declared carried unanimously. Proposed
ordinance # 209 was read at length and twice by title. Fogg seconded the
motion moving the adoption of proposed ordinance # 209. Question: The
Chairman declared the unanimous passage of the ordinance.
The loudspeaker at the Park Motel was discussed and reported that it was
not being turned off at the time designated by the Village. Spence was
instructed to write a letter to the Park Motel.
The budget for the 1959-1960 fiscal year Was briefly discussed.
A letter from Paris was read showing a balance of $2538.97 against the
Village shop which should be included in the budget.
The several bills were read for payment: And regarding the Nelson bill
on the Childers property,..,Ackaret was instructed to inform them that the
Childers house is too low for proper disposal and any liability by
being connected to the Village Sewer is assumed by Childers.

Burnside moved that the bills be allowed and ordered paid, which
motion was seconded by Fortin and carried unanimously.
No further business coming before the Board_t mee
recessed until the call of the Chair.
