HomeMy Public PortalAbout2017-097 Resolution Approving the 2020-2040 Comp Plan Update and Authorizing Submission to Met CouncilMember Martin introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2017-97 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2020-2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE AND AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR OFFICIAL REVIEW WHEREAS, following substantial public feedback and process, the City of Medina has prepared a draft decennial update of its Comprehensive Plan as required by Minnesota Statute 473.864; and WHEREAS, on December 13, 2016, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan update; and WHEREAS, on April 21, 2017, the City routed the Comprehensive Plan update to affected jurisdictions for their review and comment for a period of six months pursuant to law; and WHEREAS, on November 8, 2017, and November 14, 2017, the City Council and Planning Commission reviewed the comments from affected jurisdiction and completed review of the Comprehensive Plan update (dated November 2017); and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 473.175 requires that the City submit the Comprehensive Plan update to the Metropolitan Council for its review for conformance with metropolitan system plans before such Plan update may be adopted and put into effect by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the city council of the City of Medina, Minnesota hereby approves the 2020-2040 Comprehensive Plan update and directs city staff to submit the updated Plan to the Metropolitan Council for official review.
