A RESOLUTION PROVIDING SUPPORT OF THE 21ST CENTURY
COMMUNITIES INITIATIVE SUPPORT
WHEREAS, The 21s` Century Communities Initiative Program represents a challenge from
Governor Mike Leavitt to :
A. Encourage rural Utah to prepare for unprecedented population and visitor growth,
B. Create new jobs and reduce unemployment,
C. Diversify Rural Economies
D. Protect the Quality of Life; and
WHEREAS, The Moab City Council finds that it is in the interest of the Citizens of the City of
Moab to provide a vehicle through which many state programs and resources affecting rural Utah
will be funneled.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Moab City Council hereby expresses support
for the 215t Century Communities Initiative Program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in open Council by a majority vote of the Governing Body of the City of
Moab this 25th day of August, A.D., 1998.
