Home My Public Portal About2019-36 Approving payment of utility invoices related to MAST AcademyRESOLUTION NO. 2O19-36 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THB VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, APPROVING PAYMENT OF UTILITY INVOICES RELATED TO THE VILLAGE'S USE OF MARITIME AND SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY (MAST) ACADEMY AND RECREATION FIELDS; PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") and the School Board of Miami- Dade County, Florida (the "school Board") are parties to an Interlocal Agreement dated July 16, 2012, which has been amended from time to time, (the "Interlocal Agreement") which relates, in part, to Maritime and Science Technology (MAST) Academy ("MAST"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement, the parties entered into a joint use agreement dated September 6, 2013 (the "Joint Use Agreement") for the shared use, maintenance and operation of the recreational fields to be constructed by the School Board on the MAST Campus; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Joint Use Agreement, the Village is responsible for paying the cost of certain utility charges; and WHEREAS, the Village Manager recommends paying the School Board for the Village's share of the utility invoices in the amount of $43,939.05 (the "Invoices"), as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has reviewed the Invoices and desires to approve payment to the School Board for the Invoices in the amount of $43,939.05; and WHEREAS' the Village Council hnds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the citizens of the Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOIilS: Page 1 of2 Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted, confirmed, and incorporated herein. Section 2. Approval. That the Village Council approves payment to the School Board for the Invoices in the amount of $43,939.05. Section 3. Implementation. That the Village Council authorizes the Village Manager to take any and all actions necessary to implement the intent of this Resolution. Section 4. Effective Date.
