HomeMy Public PortalAbout1945.05.07 Council MinutesMay 7, 1945 The Board of Trustees of the Village of McCall, Idaho, met on the above date, in regular session and the following business was transacted: -- Roll Call:- W. E. Jordan, Chairman Wallace Hiatt J. W. Kasper M. R. Bonecher Ralph Paris Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jordan. The uallots of the biennial election, held on April 24, 1945, were canvassed with the following result :- e4 votes were cast at this election, Wallace Hiatt and #/alph Paris were elected for a term of four years. Hiatt received 43 votes; Paris 49 votes, and *eorge South, 29. The above mentioned newly elected councilmen, Wallace Hiatt and Ralph Paris, were duly sworn into office. The Board then proceeded to organize by electing W. E. Jordan as Chairman of the Board. The minutes of the last regular meeting neld on April 2, 1945, and the special meetings held on April 18 and 27, 1945, were read, and on motion approved as read. Kasper that the bills be kllowed as read, and Clerk was instructed to issue warrents in payment of same. Motion carried. Ralph Paris moved that Warren Brown submit his proposal, in writing, to the Board of Trustees in regard to the Brown's Tie ,:gnd Lumber company pumping the water for the Village of McCall during the time that the mill is runnin6. Motion was seconded by J. W. Kasper, and carried, that proposal be submitted at the next regular meeting the held on June 4, 1945. Mrs. :on Numbers and Miss Je11 Tobias met with the Board in regard to a lot, near the Wesco .super aervice Station to be used as a park, askine, permission or the Board to proceed and asking for whatever sup port the _oard could give the matter. Miss Tobias submitted a plan of the proposed park, in the interests of the McCill Progressive Cluu and was given the assurance of the Board Members to so ahead and complete the park with authority to remove the present dock whenever feasible. The Legion have promised to install a drinking fountain, and the park is to be known as a memorial park honoring our service personnel. May 7, 1945--Continued. It was moved oy ttalph Paris -nd seconded by J. f:'. Kasper that the ladies be given the go-ahead sign including tearing out the present dock and carry on the work according to the submitted plan. Motion was carried. H. Joles and on met with the board in regard to pumping out the septic tank and it was moved oy 1iI. R. Bonecher and seconded by Ralph Paris that swwerage oe pumped into the river at a fee of $500.00 instead of doles usual zee of $650.00 when hauled away. Motion carried. uene Freeman met with the ooard as manager of the McCall Golf Course in regard to rates to ap7:1y for the coming season play. It was setb at all army and navy personnel oe given a rate of 75 per day. Motion carried. Chairman Jordan declared the week of May 20 to 26, 1945 as Clean -Up Week for the Village of McCall. The salaries of the i'atermaster was set at $165.00 per month; Chief of Police at $200.00 per month and Clerk at $50.00 per month.
